Services

This page contains all of the details of how we charge for our services.  We are now set up to receive payments using the PayPal system!  You do NOT have to be a registered PayPal user to make a payment through PayPal.  Just click on the PayPal button for the type of bus service you need and follow the instructions given.  All major credit cards are accepted!

The rates below are based upon a fuel cost of $4.75 per gallon.  We do not charge a fuel surcharge as some other companies do and will not do so unless the average fuel prices for diesel rise to $5.00 a gallon or more. Also, with regards to overnight tours, we do not require the client to pay for a driver's meals and/or lodging.  Other companies frequently tack that cost onto your bill or advise you to reserve and pay for a driver's room at the same place that your group chooses to lodge in order to avoid those charges.  You'll never have to pay those extra fees at Aero Trails Bus Lines!  Everything is included in our one line price*!  With regard to ALL SERVICES, the clock starts when the bus  spots at it's first pickup point as directed by the Client, not when it departs from our F.B.O. (fixed base of operations).

If your pickup point is farther than 60 miles from downtown Houston, you may be asked to pay an additional deadhead charge.

*Deadheading is a separate charge and will be priced on a case by case basis (generally at a rate of $1.50 per Road Atlas Mile).  Deadheading charges do not and cannot apply to Shuttle or Routed Services.  Shuttle and Routed Services are not generally offered outside of the Houston Metropolitan area, but ask us anyway.  We may be able to cater to your special event!

  • Standard Tours / Charters

Charges are billed in blocks of 12 Hours or 24 Hours.  You will receive a grace period of 3 hours for running over time.  Should a delay be caused by an Act Of God, Freeway Closure, or anything else that was not the fault of the Client, additional time will be added into your grace period to cover these events.  It should be noted, however, that should a third party hired by the Client be the cause of the delay, the Client is still held responsible for the additional time of the delay. (See example)

Each 12 hour block retails for $1000.00 per bus.

Each 24 hour block retails for $1800.00 per bus.

Bonafide Religious Organizations and Churches are eligible for a 15% discount.  Certain other non-profit or 501(c)3 groups may be eligible for this discount as well, but Aero Trails Bus Lines, Inc. reserves the right to extend this discount to each group on a case by case basis.  An example of how to calculate our pricing structure:  36 hours would be considered one 24 hour block plus a 12 hour block.  48 hours would be two 24 hour blocks.  60 hours would be two 24 hour blocks plus a 12 hour block.

(Example: The Client books a trip from Huntsville, Texas to Space Center Houston in Houston and return.  The Client expects to leave Huntsville, travel for 1.5 hours, spend 9 hours at Space Center Houston, then return.  While touring Space Center Houston, the tram breaks down leaving the Client's Group stranded at the Mission Control Building for 4 hours.  What was planned as a 12 hour trip has now become a 16 hour trip.  The Client is now responsible for paying for a 24 hour block instead of  a 12 hour block as originally scheduled.)

  • Shuttle Services

Shuttle Service is defined as any trip not extending further than 60 air miles from the datum point for all Physical Addresses in Houston, Texas (Allen's Landing) and not having a duration exceeding 13 hours.  Shuttle Service may serve multiple destinations within the service area at no additional charge.  Shuttle Service has no grace period excepting Freeway Closures or an Act Of God or other delays outside of the Client's control.  Should a delay occur that is Client related and causes a second driver to take command of the trip due to USDOT service hour regulations, additional charges will apply.  Shuttle Service is priced at $750.00 per bus.  example: A travel agent in Baltimore, Maryland has a group travelling on a Cruise Ship docking at Galveston, Texas.  Aero Trails is contracted to have a bus waiting at the pier for them at 9:00am on the morning that their Cruise ends.  They disembark from the ship and board at Peir 25 and are ready to travel by 10:00am.  The bus then proceeds to Space Center Houston where the group gets off at about 11:00am to tour the facilities for 7 hours.  The Aero Trails Driver and Bus stand by at Space Center Houston.  The group reboards the bus and is ready to depart by 6:00pm.  They then travel to Bush Intercontinental Airport, arriving about 7:30pm, so that they can catch their flight back to Baltimore that departs at 9:00pm.  The driver is released from service by 7:30pm to return to base.

    • $750.00
  • Routed Bus Service

Routed Bus Service is sold in 3 Hour Blocks with a 2 block minimum.  Each Block of Routed Service is priced at $500.00 per bus.  Routed Service has the same service area and restrictions as Shuttle Service.  The main difference that separates Routed Service from Shuttle Service is that the driver is expected to stop only for passenger loading and unloading before continuing on a set (and possibly scheduled) route selected (and directed) by the Client.  The driver does not "stand by" and wait on the group as in the above scenario.  The driver is typically providing service to a group too large for everyone to ride together on a single bus at the same time.  Unless there is a driver change caused by the Client keeping the buses and drivers beyond what was originally contracted (overtime), all driver changes required by DOT Hours of Service rules will not incur additional charges.  example:  Acme Corporation has selected the George R. Brown Convention Center (GRB) in Houston to host their Christmas Holiday Gala for their employees nationwide.  They are forced, because of the number of employees attending, to board them in 3 different hotels in Downtown Houston.  Acme has requested that Aero Trails pick up all of the employees as their flights arrive and deliver them to their assigned Hotels on Day 1, provide Transportation all day on Day 2 from the three hotels to the Convention Center, and then return everyone to their flights on Day 3.  While days 1 & 3 could possibly be priced as Shuttle Service, Day 2 would need to be Routed Service running a Route that goes 'Hotel A to Hotel B to Hotel C to GRB to Hotel A'. If the routed service is only scheduled from 8:00am to 1:00pm, then it will still cost $600.00 (the same as if it ran until 2:00pm).  If the routed service runs 9:00am to Midnight, then it will cost $1500.00.  In past cases where this type of scenario has occurred, all three days were typically billed as Routed Service since the bus would leave the airport, deliver to each hotel in a geographical order, then return to the airport for the next flight.  It would only be considered Shuttle Service if the bus did not return to the Airport for a second load.
